MINNEAPOLIS (June 16, 2008) – The magic of Polaroid instant pictures will leap into the digital age this July when Polaroid PoGo™ launches.

Polaroid PoGo™ - short for Polaroid-on-the-go - is a pocket-sized, inkless digital photo printer that produces full-colour photos wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone cameras and via PictBridge from digital cameras. Introduced at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2008, the next evolution of instant photography will be available nationwide for £99.

“Polaroid introduced the world to instant photography more than 60 years ago, and this year we’re redefining instant photography for the digital age,” said Tom Petters, chairman of Polaroid. “Polaroid PoGo™ is an innovative and easy-to-use way to share photos instantly – and pictures come to life without ink.”

Weighing only eight ounces, Polaroid PoGo™ provides consumers with a convenient solution for sharing digital images trapped on mobile phones and digital cameras. Connecting via Bluetooth or PictBridge, Polaroid PoGo™ uses a revolutionary ZINK™ Zero Ink™ Printing Technology to produce borderless, full-colour, 2-inch by 3-inch prints in less than 60 seconds.

The full-colour digital photos are created without ink cartridges or ribbons using ZINK Photo Paper™, keeping the printer to about the size of a deck of cards. The paper is a durable material that contains colorless cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals. Heat activation brings photos to life, colorizing ZINK™ dye crystals, so digital photos can be shared instantly.

“ZINK™ Zero Ink™ Printing Technology elevates instant printing to a whole new level,” said Petters. “With Polaroid PoGo™, you don’t have to print pictures at your personal computer anymore – the convenient pocket size means printing photos can once again be a social activity.”

ZINK Photo Paper™ is manufactured by ZINK Imaging and will retail for between 23 and 30 pences per print; 10-packs cost £2.99, while 30 packs cost £6.99.
